About the role

Tozers is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally.

Our Wealth Management Team has built a strong reputation for advising business-owners, farmers and high net worth individuals with complex succession-planning needs.

We are seeking a detail-orientated lawyer to help us service our existing client base whilst contributing to further growth.

What you’ll be doing

You will work within our Tax, Trusts and Succession sub-team within Tozers’ Wealth Management Team, with a focus on succession planning and estate administration for high net worth individuals. We are a supportive and energetic department known for our dedication to providing effective and pragmatic solutions, together with excellent service, to our client base.

As part of our sub-team, you will work on client matters alongside Tozers’ Wealth Management Team Leader and the Tax, Trust and Succession partners, with paralegal and administrative support. Within this framework, you will be responsible for progressing files, reporting to the Partner leading the file and, in turn, will be supported by a dedicated team of paralegals and administrative assistants, to whom you will delegate tasks.

As part of this collaborative team, you will deal with a range of matters, from the administration of complex or high-value estates, to the drafting of Wills and trust deeds, as well as bespoke advice to clients who wish to consider succession planning and/ or inheritance tax matters.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an inquisitive and motivated lawyer who will thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

You will have some experience of advising on inheritance tax, succession planning, the structure and creation of trusts and estate administration matters.

You will be technically skilled and will, ideally, already have achieved or be working towards STEP qualification.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate experience of working collaboratively.
